Kids’ subscription ideas

Need a gift for the lucky child who has everything and want to avoid more “stuff”?

Here are my top tips for subscriptions:

Aquila (8-12 year-olds) – each monthly issue covers a different topic (such as Light or Chocolate) and includes a variety of articles, puzzles and jokes.  My 10 year-old loves receiving his in the post every month.

First News – (7-14 year-olds) – my son first got to know this weekly newspaper at school but devours it now he receives a subscription at home.  Great talking points.  There’s a Christmas offer which currently includes a gift.

First Wonder Box (4-8 year-olds) – fab fortnightly activity boxes jam packed with themed games, craft, fact booklets, stickers and a little gift.  There’s a special offer on currently with 50% off your first box.

Membership of a charity – the boys have enjoyed an RSPB membership which includes a quarterly magazine and a gift.

A special interest magazine or comic – The Beano, 110% Gaming and Match of the Day are all popular in our house!

I’ve also heard great things about The Week Junior (8-14 year-olds) and National Geographic Kids (6-11 year-olds).
